Smart systems are fundamental to modern technology, serving as the foundation for a wide
range of computational applications. These systems analyze and characterize complex
scenarios by combining sensing, actuation, and intelligent control, allowing informed decision-
making based on available data in a predictive or adaptive way. Their ability to carry out
intelligent behaviors is critical in a variety of academic and industrial settings. Computer
scientists, mathematicians, and researchers benefit from smart systems in addressing
computational challenges across diverse domains.
In this context, the SmartSys WS brings together professionals and scientists working in
computer vision, sensor networks, artificial intelligence, data science, human-computer
interaction, Internet of Things, smart grids, operational research, and evolutionary computation.
As an interdisciplinary forum under the auspices of computational science, SmartSys
stimulates cooperation and innovation across multiple fields, with particular emphasis on
modeling, simulation, and optimization.
SmartSys’25 will be part of ICCS 2025 (International Conference on Computational Science), which will be held in Singapore, 7-9 July, 2025.
Important Dates
Paper submission: 31 January 2025Notification of acceptance of papers: 31 March 2025
Camera-ready papers: 18 April 2025
Author registration: 31 March-19 April 2025
Call for papers
Authors are invited to submit manuscripts reporting original, unpublished
research and recent developments in Computational Sciences.
From the accepted papers, part of them will be selected for presentation at the conference and publication in the proceedings.
They will be published by Springer Lecture Notes in Computer Science (LNCS) series and indexed by Scopus, EI Engineering Index,
Thomson Reuters Conference Proceedings, Citation Index (included in ISI Web of Science), and several other indexing services. ICCS
is co-organised with the Workshops on Computational Science, a set of thematic satellite events that focus on particular aspects
of computational science. You can submit your paper to either the Main Conference or any of the Workshops via the same EasyChair link.
The papers will contain linked references, XML versions and citable DOI numbers.
Please also keep in mind that:
-
1. ICCS and WCS (Workshops on Computational Science) papers will be published in separate proceedings, that is, there will be a LNCS
publication for the Main Conference, and a different LNCS publication for the Workshops. But both ICCS and WCS will be published by LNCS,
and indexed in the same way.
2. The only difference between Full and Short papers is the number of accepted pages. They are otherwise published and indexed in the exact same way.

Paper submission
Procedures for Submission
Full papers should have 12-15 pages and short papers should have 6-8 pages. Please, see full details on the conference’s webpage, on Calls section. The papers should be submitted electronically via EasyChair. Visit EasyChair Home, if you do not have an account in EasyChair. Templates are available for download in the ICCS site.
Papers must be based on unpublished original work and must be submitted to SmartSys only. Submission implies the willingness of at least one of the authors to register and present the paper.
Deadlines for draft paper submission, notification of acceptance, camera-ready paper submission and registration may be found in the Important Dates section.
Registration
SmartSys’25 is a thematic track in the framework of the ICCS 2025 Conference and the fee of the Conference is needed. Submission implies the willingness of at least one of the authors to register and present the paper.
For registration and accommodations please see ICCS registration page.
